St Mary’s 1-19 vs. UU Jordanstown 1-5

The game got underway on Wednesday 12th October at Corrigan Park in conditions not ideal for hurling. The match, however, was fast paced with UUJ racing into a two-point lead. This proved to be their last score for fifteen minutes as St Mary's dominated for a spell that saw them strike over five unanswered points, four of which came from on-form Antrim star, Shane McNaughton. St Mary's continued to dominate for the rest of the half as McNaughton, Chrissy Brogan and midfielder Donal McKinley all added points which saw them lead 0-9 to 0-5 at half-time.

As the second half got underway, it became clear that St Mary's was the more urgent team as Ryan Donnelly knocked over a score after just sixty-five seconds and a further three points were added before UUJ replied with the first goal of the game. St Mary's replied with a flurry of scores from McNaughton, Jude Savage, Patrick Muldoon, Antoin McCaffery and Eamonn McCaughan and eventually ran out winners with fourteen points to spare. Manager, Simon McCrory, was happy with the work rate of his forwards and midfielders and the performance of the entire backline consisting of John Kerr, Caoimhin Duffin, Connor Devlin, Sean Lawell, Paul Gafney and Aaron Cosgrove.

Next for St Mary's is an away fixture against Trinity College Dublin on Wednesday 19th October.
