Seminar on Blended Learning

20 February 2014

Daíthí Murray, who is both an Irish language teacher and Director of ICT at St Paul’s High School in Bessbrook, visited St Mary’s last week to lead a seminar on blended learning in the high school setting. The room was packed to capacity for the discussion of questions such as, ‘How do we manage (and exploit) the presence of devices such as smart phones and tablets in the classroom?’ and, ‘Where do the goals of blended learning fit into the demands of the national curriculum?’ Present for the discussion was the The Regional Support Centre of Northern Ireland (RSCni) e-Learning Adviser, Liza Zamboglou, who contributed to the discussion by outlining her role in furthering recent developments in online and blended learning within St Mary’s.
