"Santa’s Grotto" for Barnardos

18 December 2014

On Tuesday, 9 December, St Mary's Michaela Foundation Society raised £300 for Barnardo's at a “Santa's Grotto” event in the College.

Barnardo's believes in children, regardless of their circumstances, gender, race, disability or behaviour. Their purpose as a charity today is to transform the lives of the United Kingdom’s and Ireland's most vulnerable children. This purpose ties in perfectly with the ethos of St Mary's, and The Michaela Foundation felt that raising money for this wonderful charity was a must, especially at this time of year. Later that evening there was a Mass for the Michaela Foundation honouring three successful years of the society within St Mary's and remembering Michaela herself, a past pupil of the College. The Michaela Foundation have had a super semester so far and look forward to the new year with more events and fundraisers in the pipeline—to continue living a life without limits!
