Scríobh Leabhar 2017

10 June 2017

The year 2017 has been another successful one for Scríobh Leabhar. The competition attracted fifteen schools to take part with almost 1,500 pupils writing and designing their own books. Many of the winners made the trip to St Mary’s University College to be presented with their prizes at a special event held on Tuesday, 6 June. Altogether, there were 137 prizewinners. Also in attendance were teachers and many parents who watched with pride as their children made their way up to the stage to receive their medals.

This year, the renowned Rann na Feirste storyteller, Suzanne Ní Ghallchóir, was the special guest. Suzanne held the audience captive with her traditional tales from Donegal. The organisers, An tÁisaonad, and sponsors, Foras na Gaeilge, thanked those teachers who took part and congratulated the children who produced such excellent work.

Bliain eile rathúil do Scríobh Leabhar a bhí in 2017. Mheall an comórtas 15 de scoileanna le páirt a ghlacadh agus chuir chóir a bheith 1,500 dalta a leabhar féin le chéile, idir scríobh agus dearadh. Rinne cuid mhaith de na buaiteoirí a mbealach chuig Coláiste Ollscoile Naomh Muire lena nduais a fháil ag searmanas speisialta Dé Máirt 6 Meitheamh. San iomlán, bhí 137 buaiteoir ann.

I láthair ag an ócáid chomh maith bhí múinteoirí agus cuid mhaith tuismitheoirí a d’amharc go bródúil ar a bpáistí nuair a chuaigh siad suas go dtí an t-ardán lena mbonn a fháil. I mbliana, ba í an scéalaí clúiteach Suzanne Ní Ghallchóir as Rann na Feirste, an t-aoi speisialta agus bhí seisiún draíochta aici ag insint scéalta traidisiúnta as Dún na nGall.
