AWARE

10 October 2017

AWARE is the national depression charity for Northern Ireland which has been offering group support across the north for the last twenty-one years.

The West Belfast support group has been meeting every fortnight in St Mary’s University College for the last two years. The group is led by volunteer facilitators who have either experienced depression themselves or have cared for someone suffering from depression. The support group is open to anyone who would like to attend and is a great way to bring people together who are experiencing the same thoughts, emotions and behaviours. In this way, people share experiences and discuss self-help strategies and coping skills that will help the process of recovery.

AWARE is always recruiting new volunteers to help facilitate the support groups. If you or anyone you know would be interested in volunteering, a volunteer application form can be downloaded from the AWARE website.

The support group meets on alternate Thursdays in Room RS066 from 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm.
