The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Clonard Credit Union (CCU) was held in St Mary’s University College on Sunday, 24 November. CCU membership continues to grow every year, reflected in the large attendance at the AGM.

Brian McCrory (Chairperson of the CCU) commented: “CCU now has over 15,000 members and we are delighted to report that 1,188 new members joined in the financial year 2018/19. We have opened a new branch in the Park Centre which is proving very successful to date. We offer our 15,000 plus members access to their Credit Union facilities six days a week.”

Professor Peter Finn (Principal of St Mary’s University College) said: “the Credit Union provides affordable finance for communities all over the country and is a movement that deserves much more appreciation than it receives”.
