Three of St Mary's recent graduates from PGCE and BEd programmes have been awarded the prestigious Fulbright Foreign Language Teaching Assistantship Awards and are currently applying their teaching competences in United States universities.
Their achievement reflects the high quality and highly-driven aspirations of Irish-medium students in St Mary's University College. The successful scholars will make a contribution to third level teaching programmes in the USA during this academic year and will be furthering their own professional development in dynamic, exciting surroundings. The students appreciate that they are privileged to have this opportunity and are committed to their roles as ambassadors for St Mary's University College and for Ireland.

Mr Anthony Duffy completed his PGCE in Irish-medium Education from St Mary's University College, Belfast in 2015.
He will be a Fulbright Foreign Language Teaching Assistant at Drew University and New York University.
Mr Fergal Rafferty completed a BEd in 2013 and has already made a start to a specialist MEd option in Irish-medium Education.
He will be the first Foreign Language Teaching Assistant at Davidson County Community College, North Carolina.
Ms Niamh Rodgers graduated from St Mary's University College, Belfast, in 2014 and spent her
first year as a newly qualified teacher in Bunscoil Mhuire agus Phádraig, Downpatrick.
She will be a Fulbright Foreign Language Teaching Assistant at University of Connecticut.
