BEd (Primary & Post-Primary)

The Bachelor of Education is a four-year honours degree, which prepares students for teaching careers in either the Primary or Post-Primary sectors. Many students are attracted to the BEd Primary degree programme at St Mary's because it includes the opportunity to continue academic studies in a specific subject area, such as Music, Mathematics, or Science, as an integrated element of each year of study.

The programmes also include a variety of opportunities to gain practical experience in the school environment, as well as opportunities in Irish Medium Education, and opportunities to study abroad. The programmes further include the opportunity to study for a Certificate in Religious Education.
